LANGUAGE ARTS
HERE IS MY LANGUAGE ARTS PAGE
I absolutely enjoy language arts because it helps me improve my writing skills. I love to write narrative stories and L.A helps me learn new styles of writing like argumentative essays too. I have improved in all the six traits of writing and used them in my writing. I always try not to go over and beyond, I try to stay focused on the subject and not get carried away. I hope I could accomplish this goal before I go to Secondary School. (Middle School).
FOR MY L.A LESSON WE HAD TO MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF CLAY AND WRITE DOWN THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOW TO MAKE IT!!!

This is supposed to be a rabbits face
This was our Instruction writing unit. I really enjoyed this unit because I could teach my friends how to make the new models I invented. In the beginning I struggled a bit because I really didn't know how to give some instructions for making things but with the help of my teachers I got the hang of writing down instructions!!! I really enjoyed this unit because I could learn how to make new things and invent new objects!!!
THIS WAS MY READING GROUP!!!!!
For reading, we were doing something called novel study. For this activity there were about five jobs and each group member had to do one job per meeting. There were about ten meetings. We had to discuss and share our work. After we shared our work we had to talk about what went well in the meeting and what didn't go so well. When my group finished the meeting, we didn't have anything negative to say about the meeting; we really enjoyed the wonderful meetings!!!
This is my argumentative essay
In this unit we did argumentative writing. Our summative assessment was to write an argumentative essay about canceling break. I disagreed with this topic because I think that children need break for many different reasons. What do you think dear reader. Do you want break???

This is one of my narrative stories!!!
In this unit we were doing narrative stories. My favourite type of writing!!! As a practice for writing narrative stories, my teachers took us on a field trip to visit the low income houses. It was really dirty there but the more people I met in the slums the more ideas I got to develop my narrative story. This is my narrative story. I hope you enjoy it!!!
The Tragedy
ANARGI
“Cock a doodle doo” cried the rooster as the sun rose like a red lantern. The sun’s golden rays reflected on the window of a shanty house like a staircase to heaven. While the rooster was screaming,Rani woke up with a stretch and a yawn. She pulled the blanket off the bed and threw to a basket to wash. Rani got herself washed and dressed with a simple trouser and a simple t shirt. Rani cooked a meal of fried eggs and rice to eat for breakfast. As the food was cooking ,in a clay pot,she went to wake up her parents, her father Samantha and her mother Mala. The poor family sat on three plastic chairs and ate their meal. She hurriedly gave her father his medicine because he had cancer. Rani gave her mother a walking stick and kiss on her cheek. Rani had to go to work in a grocery store so she waved good bye to her parents and took off.
When Rani was walking to the grocery store a small breeze knocked her hair like a bumper car and lifted it up like a cloth caught up in the wind. Rani always loved the morning sun as it spread it’s golden rays across her face like spreading a table cloth made out of gold. She lived in a shanty house with only two rooms. The two rooms were separated with a plank of wood which was half eaten by termites. Rani was thinking about leaving work early to see her grandmother so she ran to the grocery shop and immediately began to work.
She had to put stacks and stacks of of fruits and vegetables in carts on dusty shelves as well as serve the bustling and noisy customers. Rani had to wear a handkerchief to survive in their because it was like a dust tsunami. Even though Rani worked very hard she was only paid five hundred rupees a day. She worked for four hours in the grocery shop and took leave early to see her grandmother. Her grandmother lived in the Victoria Home because there was no room for her grandmother to stay at her house.
Rani went to one of the pavement shops and bought a towel and some fruits to her grandmother. She couldn’t afford to go to the expensive shops because Rani bought them with the money she saved up for the week. After she bought the fruits and the towel Rani began to walk towards Victoria home .
Rani began to cross the road when it was red light for the vehicles so when she was crossing the road a blue Sahara was flying towards her like a jet and ran over her like she was an ant. The Sahara couldn’t control the speed so Rani was as flat as a pancake when the jeep ran over her. Rani was lying in a pool of blood. She was in a lot of pain. Nobody could even think of what she was going through just lying down like someone who has just survived a tsunami.
Narrative
For H.W we were supposed to write a part of a narrative story started by someone else. This is my part, thi is the section I wrote!!!
The puppies wanted to get the flu out of Lily’s grandmother once and for all. Sugar ordered Candy to get tons and tons of coffee powder. Gummy asked Sugar to get a liter of hot water. The litre of water was almost as heavy as a water fountain but with the help of Fred, the two adorable puppies used their muscles to carry the litre of water. There were two coffee bags and with the help of Chocolate Candy lifted the bags ,like they were lifting mammoth sized rocks, and brought them to where all the puppies were. Gummy was whistling a happy tune while Fred was daydreaming.
Robert mixed up all the coffee and hot water together. When he was mixing the ingredients up the ,silver ladle was losing it’s grip and they had to put gloves to hold it again because it was like the ladle had been swimming in lava. After five minutes the puppies got ready to do their magic as the steam came out of the bowl like a train going ‘Choo Choo!!!’ Lily’s father lifted the bowl onto the table like it was a diamond. James guided her grandmother and sat her on a chair. She wasn’t sure if this method was going to work but she had to try it. The choice her grandmother made was between life and death. As she made her first move; she inhaled deeply, her nose absorbed the steaming air which was wafting in and out of her nose. She took more deep breaths and on the fifth one she started sneezing uncontrollably. She sneezed for five minutes and then came to a stop. She stood there for a while and then looked up at her family.

literature Circles
Literature circles is a great language activity which helps you find out about the different parts which make up a story. There are five jobs or more for each of the members in your team. There are about ten meetings and everyone in your group has to read a part of your book and do their job according to the pages they read. Each meeting ,every team member gathers together and discusses about what they have done. At the end of the meeting you need to talk about what you can do better next time to improve your input . You also need to talk about what went well and what didn't. On the last day you will be given a chance to act out a part of your story. You can do a puppet show, movie, mime, act and lots of other creative options!!!
